In this new article, Joe Emersberger and I discuss the new documentary Tierras Libres by filmmaker Edward Ellis. The documentary explores the murder of peasants that are trying to implement land reforms of Venezuela’s elected government and how their families are seeking justice through a judicial system that remains largely controlled by a corrupt national elite. For more information on the film Tierras Libres, see here.
